Breaking news: Glossier is opening its first store

Glossier is on a roll. After the success of its pop-up stores in San Francisco and Chicago, which were never short of customers, and launching a French e-shop on October 23, the skin-care and makeup label is opening its first flagship store in New York City on November 8.

Glossier founder Emily Weiss, is going all-out for the launch of her first store, which spans two floors and a total of 3,000 m2 ( 32,292 ft2). The businesswoman selected 123 Lafayette Street, aka the exact spot where the company was founded just four years ago, as a location. To give customers an “in real life” experience (after four years of online interaction), Weiss called on the architects Gachot Studios and Peterson Rich Office to create a space centered around interaction.

Unsurprisingly, the physical store mirrors Glossier’s aesthetic, staying loyal to its trademark color palette of pale pink, white and red. There is also a humid zone, which transports customers to the environment of their bathrooms. Boy Brow, the famous best-seller, will have its very own room where shoppers and beauty fans can exchange beauty tips. They can also start a purchase in-store and finish it online, seamlessly blending the physical and digital connection with Glossier shoppers.
